Artist Statement:

Inspired by experiences, memories, and nature, evocative application of oils, acrylics, mixed media, and personal writing passages are layered to shape my finished images. My paintings explore the themes of nature, serenity and reflection, and utilize rhythmic mark making and mixed media to explore how the boundaries of both simplicity and complexity coexist. I am a graduate of Paier College of Art, Hamden, Connecticut. Upon graduation I relocated to Kansas City to begin a corporate creative career and I have now returned to painting full time, a creative coming home of sorts for me. My early paintings featured realism influenced by my traditional artistic training. Now, curiosity and creative challenge drive me to explore imagery using a variety of evocative mediums and mark making techniques that best reflect my mind, my heart, and my hand. While my creative journey follows an ever-changing path that reflects the push and pull of realism and abstraction, I remain steadfast in my passion to celebrate nature and our diverse world through my paintings.
