About the Work: August 19, 2024-A selection of the artist’s newest series “Flowers of Wedded Bliss” where the artist collaborates with wedding photographers and paints the beautiful flower arrangements from photos taken during the most wonderful day in people’s lives. Weddings are all about expression of style, amazing moments and strong emotions. The artist works to embrace all of that in one painting from a very special time. Lavender Haze was from a wedding in Austin, Texas where the bride insisted on giant coral pink peonies accented with white orchids in a stone vase. The walls of the venue were a beautiful mixture of deep rich blues and purples in Venetian plaster. Her bridesmaids were all in lavender dresses (that can be worn again, of course). As they were ready to begin the ceremony, the photographer captured the largest of bouquets on a platform next to an ornate mirror. Turning this into a painting has allowed the artist to enhance the colors, deepen the walls and brighten the flowers but most importantly capturing the lavender in the mirror reflection holding on to that mixture of excitement from a once in a lifetime event.
