Base Academy of Music Expands with New Lesson Studio at the Zhou B. Art Center in Kansas City’s Historic Jazz District

Kansas City, MO – Base Academy of Music (BAM) is proud to announce the relocation of its lesson studio to the renowned Zhou B. Art Center, located in the heart of Kansas City’s historic Jazz District. This exciting move highlights BAM’s commitment to continuing its growth and expanding access to music education in the city.

In the past year, BAM has made remarkable progress, serving over 200 students weekly with a variety of music lessons. In 2023 BAM’s success caught the attention of international superstar Ed Sheeran, who personally invited all BAM students to attend one of his concerts—a moment that exemplified the impact BAM has on young, aspiring musicians.

With sound pod construction underway at the Zhou B. Art Center, music lessons are hosted at Paseo Baptist Church and will move as soon as the space is ready. The center, known for housing some of the most innovative and creative artists in Kansas City, offers an inspiring environment that will undoubtedly enhance the learning experience for BAM students.

“We are thrilled to bring our music school to such a vibrant and historically significant area,” said Clint Velazquez, Founder of Base Academy of Music. “Our students will benefit tremendously from the energy of the community, and we look forward to welcoming even more young musicians into our program.”

BAM invites the public to visit the new studio space and enjoy live performances by its students on November 1st, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, as part of the First Fridays event. This will be a great opportunity to tour the new space, meet the BAM team, and witness the incredible talent being developed at BAM.
